2022 Road March Champ of the USVI Hopeful for Chance on NBC’s ‘The Voice.’

US Virgin Islander, Star Martin has auditioned for The Voice USA.

The Saint Thomas native who appears in the preview of Season 23 of The Voice USA is said to be a multi-faceted vocalist. Excited about the possibility of succeeding in the competition, Martin, in a statement issued, said, “The journey has been exciting, but extremely intense so far.”

No stranger to the US Virgin Island music scene, Star began singing at the age of nine. As a teenager, she migrated to New Jersey and captured the title of ‘New Jersey Idol’. Immediately after winning the 2006 title Star was scouted for broadway shows Lion King and Chicago. Since then, she has settled in Atlanta where she continues to pursue her love for music.

Star’s upbringing in the islands piqued her obvious interest in Soca Music. She has found her own way to incorporate her RnB-esque style into her Soca releases. To date, some of her releases, namely, ‘Mistaken Identity’, ‘Carnival Again’, ‘Dip and Roll’, ‘Love Like This’ and ‘Mash Up Deh Place’ have placed her on stages with Caribbean music heavyweights like Patrice Roberts, Kerwin Du Bois, Destra Garcia, Shenseea, Voice and Skinny Fabulous to name a few.

In 2022, Star won the People’s Choice Roadmarch winner of her home-island St. Thomas with ‘Carnival Again’.

Season 23 of NBC’s The Voice airs on March 06th. Follow Star’s journey on INSTAGRAM
