Buju Releases New Single Aimed At “Reclaiming Dancehall Space.”

Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist, Buju Banton has released his first single for 2022, The track's called, Madda Badda and was produced by J August.

The new single, which is a mix of classic dancehall rhythms mixed with contemporary sounds, highlights the hardcore dancehall lyricism and flow that brought Buju Banton to prominence in the 90s, according to a press statement.

Madda Badda is released in collaboration with Ghetto Youths International and Gargamel Music. According to Buju’s team, “this exciting new single by Buju is a reminder and a reclaiming of the dancehall space with the authentic sound and cadence the genre was popularized for.”

With the release of this latest single, Buju Banton is calling to the collective minds of people everywhere, the dancehall that Jamaica is known for. This track comes as a respite amid public concerns that the quality of dancehall music has waned. Not one to make long speeches, Buju has seemingly responded where it matters most, in song.

The track is being described as simple and meaningful, working well in making it realized that artistes need not compromise one for the other. The track is now available on global streaming platforms, for purchase and download.
