Farmer Nappy’s name is on everybody’s lips in T&T this morning. He’s trending, and it ain’t for Soca or a performance at a fete. In fact, the ‘Gyal Like Rain’ singer who collaborated with Christopher Martin this season, brought all talk of Machel Montano’s unexpected appearance at CIC Fete on Saturday, to a screeching halt. The buzz today is all about Farmer and what is now speculated to be a romantic relationship with T&T’s former Miss Universe, Janelle Penny Commissiong.
All it took was one photograph for the internet to get into a frenzy. The shot, taken by Trinidad Express Photographer, Curtis Chase, shows Farmer’s arms around the former beauty queen’s waist, in a very comfortable, familiar and cosy way. In turn, Penny’s hand holds Famer’s in place. The shot seems to have been taken without them being aware, as neither person is seen looking into the camera. The duo had attended Imij and Company’s reunion concert at the Anchorage, in Chaguarmas on Saturday, January 28th.
So far, there’s been no confirmation as to whether the pair are a romantic item, simply friends or otherwise. Farmer Nappy whose real name is Darryl Henry, has always maintained a very simple personal lifestyle. His personal life has never shot onto the radar. This season, his music is receiving the love of patrons at events, and he will likely be seen at various events as the season unfolds.
