Kartel who now resides in Florida, is set to perform in T&T at the One Caribbean Music Festival on May 31st.
On the weekend, the Worl’ Boss along with female dancehall artiste, Spice, appeared on Cenat’s platform, causing quite a stir on the internet. During the laid back interaction, Kartel explained that he would be performing in Trinidad and Tobago in May. “I’m locking it in right now. On May 31st, I am going to Trinidad and we gon’ go to a show and we gon’ turn up,” said Cenat on the livestream. “Everybody in Trinidad be there. That is going to be a monumental day,” said Cenat.
His mother, a Trinidad and Tobago national, Cenat has been introduced to Trinidad and Tobago’s culture from birth, however, he has not brought his celebrity to T&T. In 2024, Cenat flew to Jamaica to experience that country’s carnival. His mother did visit T&T for Carnival 2025 but Cenat did not make the trip.
In a social media post with her son, ‘Mama Cenat’ told Kai that while she knows he has an affinity to reggae and dancehall music, there is a new generation of soca artistes he should check out. “We have Lady Lava and we have Trinidad Killa featuring Nicki Minaj and then we have the zessers and ‘dem. So I just want to let you know that I need you to come to Trinidad and Tobago and witness the greatest show on earth, and I just want to say Trinidad and Tobago, he love yuh.”
