Kees, Shaggy Take Their ‘Mood’ to The Tamron Hall Show.

It’s a great look.

Soca music, though in a hybrid style, has made it to the Tamron Hall show!

A video clip, posted to the show’s IG page and shared by Caribbean entertainment news website, Ebuzztt.com, has excited fans of soca music, many expressing immense gratitude to the host herself, for showcasing the “music of the Caribbean.”

Kees brought Shaggy to Trinidad and Tobago’s carnival in 2023, the artiste having been included in the lineup for Kees’ IZWE carnival festival. The duo had been promoting the release of “Mood,” a song collaboratively done and selected as the title track for Shaggy’s Hybrid Soca album of the same name. The album, according to Shaggy, features collaborations with other soca artistes, among them, Patrice Roberts and Bunji Garlin.

On the Tamron Hall show, Shaggy and Kees treated the audience to that sweet Caribbean energy, complete with fashion looks that easily made the artistes themselves identifiable as Caribbean guys. The song’s easy listening melody was digested really well by audience members who smiled and danced as the artistes delivered on set.

Tamron Hall visited Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival prior to the pandemic. She obviously understands just what Soca music is capable of doing. Take a look yourself!
