MX Prime Rallies In Support of T&T National Footballers with ‘Kick Off.’

A brand new album launched, former Road March king, MX Prime is proving resilient as ever.

The artiste has launched ‘Kick Off’ an album filled with football themed songs, one of which features former national men’s football goal keeper, Shaka Hislop.

Prime’s love for the game of football is the inspiration behind the new project and its launch comes just as Trinidad and Tobago embarked on the Gold Cup, Fifa Club World Cup Championships this past weekend, and the second round of the World Cup qualifiers. T&T is in Group B.

The artiste, known for his powerful vocals and unrelenting passion, has called on the public to throw their support behind, not just football, but certainly other sports that are in competitive standing, nationally. Prime says he believes football, as a national sport, is now seeing a revival and as such, he is determined to do his part to ensure the momentum for sport is maintained.

Twenty-one years ago, MX Prime- then called, Maximus Dan, released a song that dominated the airwaves and stadiums when the T&T Soca Warriors national football team assumed their positions on the field. The song, ‘Soca Warrior’ remains etched in the hearts of patriotic Trinbagonians at home and abroad. Prime says even back then, the idea for the song was inspired by harsh criticism meted out to the national team, many decrying the players and remarking with negative foresight for game outcomes.

‘Kick Off’ brings that much needed energy and impact not just to the football landscape, but also, to the airwaves.
