Now, THIS is How You Sell Tobago. Maybe Shurwayne’s Got a Future in Tourism.

Shurayne Winchester's got the gift of performance and knowledge.

If all else fails, one things’s certain, Tobago born Soca artist, Shurwayne Winchester’s got the perfect pitch to sell the island. He proved that and much more during a performance at the Shaw Park Complex on Monday night, where the People’s Gala was hosted by the Tobago House of Assembly.

Shurwayne had flown in from Miami on Sunday and hopped the next flight over to the sister isle where he performed alongside fellow Tobago artistes, Adana and Sharon Phillip. He took the opportunity to give kudos to the organizers of the upcoming Tobago carnival, saying it was a great opportunity for the creatives in Tobago to be highlighted. His performance was nothing short of dynamic, as he belted out his past hits and brought gala attendees up to speed on his new releases, ‘Gangalee’ and the most recent, ‘To Be Gonian’- a track that was written and laid down on the Scarborough Riddim, ahead of the October festival.

As he introduced that particular single, Shurwayne reminded the audience of the beauty that exists in Tobago, inviting them to close their eyes and listen to the sound of his voice as he told the often unspoken story of the island’s natural beauty.

Check out how it went down…
