The artiste passed away on December 12th, 2023, in his homeland, Antigua. He was just 38-years-old. Ricardo’s sudden death was met with tremendous sadness within the entertainment fraternity throughout the Caribbean. Roberts, who shares a daughter with Drue, and was engaged to the artiste, had appeared on a radio interview just moments before news of his death emerged. During that interview, she spoke warmly about their plans for marriage.
On what would have been Ricardo’s 39th birthday today, Patrice shared a photo to her social media platforms, writing, “Happy heavenly Birthday, Ricardo. It hasn’t gotten any easier without you. Smiling is my way of trying to move forward, but the pain is still there. I find some comfort in the memories we shared and the love that remains. You are forever in my heart.”
Roberts has shown immense strength since losing her partner and the father of her only child. She has continued to show up and show out at major caribbean events, regionally and internationally, standing proudly in her representation as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most enjoyed female soca artistes. She recently performed at Lincoln Centre in New York City, for ‘Summer for the City’ ahead of New York’s Labor Day Caribbean carnival.
