The former Road March, Power Soca Monarch and Groovy Soca Monarch champion has released a brand new single that shows big love to Tobago.
Born and raised in Tobago, Shurwayne now resides in Trinidad but there’s no doubt that Tobago will always be home. In his latest release, the artist who’s known to be one of the best stage performers in the soca business, shares his passion for the island that bred him. The new single sits on the Scarborough riddim and has been released just in time for the upcoming Tobago carnival, which takes place in October.
The song was written collaboratively by Shurwayne, Anthony Chow Lin On and Kris Fields and hears a consistent refrain of, ‘nothin sweeter than Tobagonian.’ Other artistes on the riddim include, Zan and Adana, Chingee, Sekon Sta and Kernal Roberts.
In the last few months, Shurwayne has been a part of the international soca circuit, performing at events across the US and Canada. On August 19th, he performs alongside the Queen of Bacchanal, Destra Garcia, in Boston for an event dubbed, Carnivalian.
