The parade of bands takes place on October 27th and October 28th and already, artistes are pushing out new music. Shurwayne Winchester, Lyrikal and Yankey Boy are among artistes who’ve unleashed new Soca heading into the experience.
Tobago carnival was launched in 2022. This year, on Independence Day, the 2023 festival season was officially launched, with artistes like Bunji Garlin and Fay Ann Lyons, Superblue, Iwer George, Shurwayne, Preedy, Tam Tam, Stephanie Joseph and others, hitting the stage at the Shaw Park Complex.
The West Indian Day parade in New York now over, all eyes are on Miami. That city’s carnival takes place between October 6th and October 10th. Tobago Carnival will round up the year of carnivals and Trinidad will reignite the flame at the start of the year in 2024.



Recently, Yankey Boy hit the ground running, unleashing a single called, “Eye Get Big.” In an online broadcast in New York during Labor Day celebrations, fellow entertainer, Denise Belfon called it a ‘big tune’ worthy of Road March. Meanwhile, Shurwayne has unleashed feel good music with the ladies in mind. Two singles, ‘Up In Here,’ which features new artiste, “JhayTea, and ‘Gyal Bend Ova’ with Jus D, are just a couple of his contributions. Lyrikal, never one to disappoint, has also delivered well, bringing the vibes with, ‘Stick On’- a song that sits on the Sine Wave Riddim, produced by System 32 music.
