News surfaced on Friday morning that chaos ensued after Microsoft suffered a massive global IT outage, hitting airports, airlines, bands and broadcasters around the world.
The situation appears to have been rooted in a problem with Microsoft 365 services and apps, which many companies rely heavily on, for their internet infrastructure. In addition to this, many states in the US have reported that their emergency 911 lines are down.
The outage, which also took down the London Stock Exchange, has been linked to a faulty update from cyber-security company CrowdStrike. The company handles the security of many Windows PCs and services around the world.
