While Monday’s MET Gala, themed, “Gilded Glamour,” may have been the media highlight , Barbados superstar, Rihanna managed to make headlines of her own, despite not being in attendance at the fashion soiree this year.
The mother to be, who is in her third trimester, was herself, stunned to see her Vogue magazine cover pregnancy photo brought to life in a full scale marble depiction. The statue was unveiled at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night just in time for the ball. Rihanna stole the show, despite being absent in person, to say the least.
On Instagram, the 34-year-old wrote, “Shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!
Rihanna may not have attended fashion’s biggest night, but she sure left a lasting memory.
