The new song, ‘God’s Plan,’ ushers in a spirit of hope and faith, as the former Road March and multiple Groovy and Power Soca Monarch King, leaves every challenge faced at God’s feet and encourages fans of his music to do the same.
Shurwayne’s vocals remain unmatched, and undaunted by the pressures of an industry that often directs each artiste to follow a particular mould, he steps away on his own path, directed no doubt by a higher calling.
In the lead up to Tobago Carnival, Shurwayne was honored by the Tobago Library Services, Keyz Studio Limited and his homeland, Tobago. He received the award that took the shape of a curated catalogue of his music and explained that the honor and gift given to him will be shared with all seeking information on the contributions of Tobagonians and the history of the person awarded – in this case, the artiste himself. “The Tobago Library will be its home for all to have access whenever in need,” he said in a social media post. He went on to thank God for the blessing and asked God to keep him humble.
‘God’s Plan’ was produced by De Red Boyz out of Barbados. On social media, the man behind the lyrics, Jamesy P said, “Shurwayne, bro whatever the outcome of this track, you put your entire heart and soul into this. I’m so proud to be attached to it. God has his own plan for this tune as well. Trust the process and may God bless it abundantly.”
